Most Important Steps from the Idea to a EUREKA Project
| Find Partners for Your Project |
- EUREKA projects must have participants from at least two EUREKA member states
- Your EUREKA National Project Coordinator can be of assistance in a search for partners
|
| Develop a Concrete Project Proposal Together With Your Project Partner(s) |
- Define the scope and objectives of your project
- Complete a EUREKA project form
(application for EUREKA status) describing the basic aim, structure, budget and timescale of the project.
- Send the completed project form to the EUREKA National Project Coordinator (NPC) in your country
(the NPC of each EUREKA member state represented in the project consortium must receive a copy of the project form).
|
| NPC Approval |
The NPC of each participating country in the proposed project examines the application to make sure the proposal meets
the criteria for EUREKA status, especially:
- participants from at least two EUREKA member states
- the project must consist of R&D which leads to an innovative product, process or service, and which helps to
strengthen the competitiveness of European industry
- the project must serve only civilian purposes (no military research)
- financing of all contributions to the project must be secure
|
| Circulation of Proposal Through the EUREKA NPC Network |
Once the NPCs of the participating countries have approved the project proposal, it is circulated through the network of all
EUREKA NPCs for a period of 30 days prior to the meeting of the official EUREKA bodies that grant EUREKA status
|
| Endorsement by the EUREKA High Level Group (HLG) |
- After project proposals have been circulated for the required time period, the EUREKA NPC network recommends approval
("endorsement") of the projects to the EUREKA High Level Group (HLG) - the body empowered to grant EUREKA status.
- With the granting of EUREKA status, the project can officially begin.
|
| Announcement of the Project at the EUREKA Ministerial Conference |
The application process formally concludes with a ceremonious "announcement" of the new project at the next conference
of ministers responsible for EUREKA. This event takes place once a year (usually at the end of June).
